Priyanka Chopra’s responded to director Vishal Bhardwaj, who published a photo of himself after visiting her New York restaurant. The director, who directed Priyanka in the 2009 film Kaminey and the 2011 film 7 Khoon Maaf, lauded the restaurant’s desi cuisine. Priyanka opened the restaurant Sona last year and visits it on occasion.

Vishal shared a photo from his visit to Sona on Twitter, writing, “What a wonderful evening with friends and the most delectable Indian cuisine with a twist in New York. @priyankachopra #SonaNewYork” He is seen in the photo with a broad grin on his face as he poses for a photograph after eating at the restaurant.

Priyanka and Vishal had a short Twitter interaction, during which fans expressed their wish to see the two reconnect for a film. “When is the next 7 Khoon Maaf? Join Mr. Bhardwaj!!” commented one devotee. “Please do more movies,” said another. We miss seeing you on TV.”

Priyanka was filming at the time of Sona’s debut. She had, however, written a statement to herald the launch and had said that the name was suggested by her husband, Nick Jonas. In an Instagram post, she said, “TODAY IS OPENING DAY @sonanewyork! What began as a simple desire for wonderful Indian cuisine has evolved into this labor of love, and I can’t wait to welcome you all in and introduce you to timeless India in the heart of NYC!”
“Sona translates as ‘gold,’ and he had heard that term often in India, particularly at our wedding! she said.

Priyanka is now a mother after she and Nick had a baby girl through surrogacy in January. Citadel, Text For You, Ending Things, and Jee Le Zaraa are among the projects in the works for the actor.
