Along the Yamuna Expressway, a consortium led by film producer Boney Kapoor has submitted a higher bid than another consortium headed by actor Akshay Kumar and producer Bhushan Kumar to construct the Noida Film City, which spans 230 acres. The Times of India reports that the film city will feature, among other amenities, a helipad, a film university, and a cinema museum. Its proximity to the forthcoming Noida International Airport is a mere 6 kilometers.

In June, the officials of the Uttar Pradesh received presentations from the final four bidders for the greenfield project: Super Cassettes Industries Private Limited (T-Series), Supersonic Technobuild Private Limited (backed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films LLP, and others), Bayview Projects LLP (supported by Boney Kapoor, real estate company Bhutani Group, and Noida Cyber Park), alongside 4 Lions Films Private Limited, which is supported by KC Bokadia and other filmmakers.

Development of the initiative is proceeding in accordance with the public-private partnership (PPP) framework. Bayview Projects LLB was chosen as the developer for the greenfield project due to its provision of the maximum revenue share to the state government. The solicitation of bids for the project commenced on September 30, 2023, and the deadline was set for January 5, 2024. The proposal for the development of the Film City was presented for the third time in June, following two previous unsuccessful attempts to attract investors.

In June, Bayview Projects LLP will acquire ownership of the property by signing a concession agreement with the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority. It will have six months to commence construction following the execution of the agreement.

Concerning Noida Film City

The Noida Film City, an ambitious undertaking spearheaded by Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, is designed to be an international complex situated along the Yamuna Expressway and encompassing more than 1,000 acres (230 acres in the initial phase). Six kilometers separate Sector 21 of the Yamuna Expressway Authority from the forthcoming Noida International Airport, where the development is located.

Out of the total 230 acres, 75 acres are designated for commercial development and 155 acres are reserved for the primary film industry. The Film City will feature, among other amenities, a helipad, a cinema museum, and a film university.
